I sat for a while in a place
A place so still and empty
And my smile sighed only two words
I surrender
And that is what I did
Lay somewhere between yesterday's news
And everything he had forgotten
Just gave in
Gave up and let go and just ran
As far away from reality and 9am traffic
As I could ever, ever get
But none of that matters anymore
You exhaled and pools of your breath
Seeped gently through my barriers
And began to linger between my fingertips
Everything changes
And suddenly I couldn't be more satisfied
Waiting patiently in queues at 9am
With you at my side and heating up high
And I can breathe
Beneath the stars with a moonlit kiss
For the first time I am not afraid
And my smile sighs only three words
I love you
